Ruzafapp
A Shiny app for exploring when and where noise levels rise across Valencia's Ruzafa neighborhood.

Ruzafapp turns readings from Valencia's open-data sound sensors into a neighborhood-level view of noise pollution. Instead of presenting a table of decibel readings, it shows how noise changes by place, date, and time so the data can answer a practical question: where and when is Ruzafa loudest?
Approach
- Built a heat map that can be explored by date and time.
- Geolocated each sound sensor and displayed its recorded noise level.
- Published the dashboard in Spanish and English.
Impact
- Won first prize in the 2022 Valencia ODS Data Visualization competition.
- Turned municipal sensor readings into a public view of neighborhood noise patterns.
